Description

This extravagantly decorated restaurant in a former cinema is a Glasgow institution dating from the 1970s and is popular amongst the local Chinese community. Dragons and traditional gilt-edged oriental symbols give you plenty to look at while choosing from the extensive menu. Cantonese standards are in evidence and beautifully executed, more unusual options include a range of beancurd dishes for vegetarians or those who just fancy something different. There's a large choice of dim sum and delicious seafood dishes - highlights include the prawns baked in fiery chilli salt and the whole steamed fish, which is ceremoniously filleted at the table and gives a definite element of performance to a meal.

(V) does not always mean vegetarian here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/06
Having stumbled upon Loon Fung one Monday afternoon I thought that the lunch menu was very reasonibly priced (in comparison to the dinner menu). I was also initially impressed with the choice of vegetarian choices (quorn meals & bean curd meals feature heavily). HOWEVER I have dined here twice and on both occasions have found meat in my starters. Firstly there was shreaded beef in my vegetable soup and secondly there was shreaded pork in my spring rolls! Both starters were listed as vegetarian. This is the only point that lets Lung Fung down. The meals and the atmosphere are superb and the servcie is quick and hospitable without being overbearing. But please, plesae tighten up on your vegetrain starters Lung Fung!
