House of Fraser Jenners
Known to some as Scotland's Harrods, this independent department store counts the British Royal Family amongst its illustrious clientele. Classy, expensive and extremely well-stocked, there are many reasons to visit Jenners. It is something of an institution in Scotland, boasting a wide variety of luxury goods, from expensive jewelery to smoked salmon. Wander around the fabulous food hall, feasting your eyes on the delicious imported delicacies. If none of the goods tempt you, it's a great place to saunter around soaking up the genteel atmosphere, pretending to be a lady or gentleman of leisure. This is a particularly great place to visit around Christmas for the fantastic window displays and impressive decorations. For further details call +44 844 800 3725.
After having visited Harrods a number of times, I was so impressed with Jenners. It had a wonderful selection of high-end gift ideas (things you don't see anywhere else) and nice souveniers. I loved the food hall. Fantastic experience!!
Not the same as it was since the store was taken over by House of Frasers. They are only interested in one thing now- Profit. Not a happy place anymore and this can be seen in the staff. Sad story/ending to what was a magnificent store.
Fantastic collection of Scotch Whisky, with a free sample dram.
We were there May of 04, the exchange rate made everything expensive. Beautiful old store, staff was most helpful. Easy place to spend a lot of money.
A great last minute gift shopping place for all kinds of Scottish items to take home on your way to the train station. The building is a Victorian department store with many of the original details. Check out the food store for fresh and packaged goods that will make it through customs. And have a High Tea in the restaurant upstairs.
