Colonial Antique Mall, Woodstock

I was recently in the store where I have purchased nuerous things over the years and noticed a picture of a player piano for $400 in the front booth. I have wanted one all my life and thought it would be so much fun for my 4 grand daughters. I called the lady 2ce in one day and she said the Wisconsin Historical Society was selling it so I called the lady in charge of selling it twice on Sunday when I got home from Colonial to set up an appointment to see it. I spoke with the lady from Eagle Wisconsin and set up the soonest appointment she would give me to see it which was the following Saturday (I wanted to come on Tuesday night). I then spoke with her the Friday before and said I was coming out and made sure the appointment was still on. At that point she said another couple had called her in the meantime and they would be coming too. She didn't want to bother the people to show it twice. Since I was the first to call and set up the appointment I told her I wasn't going to drive all that way, waste my time, get upset and get in a fight about who would get it. I went out there that Saturday and got there early. She said I would get first look at it. I loved it very much and offerred her the asking price of $400.00 which was shown in the Colonial Antique Mall on the picture when I seen it. She should have accepted the offer and told the other people it was sold since I was the one who made the appointment FIRST. Well, the other peope that wre antique dealers liked it also. so she had us in a bidding war overr the piano. I was SOOOO Upset about how this was handled since I was the one who first called and wanted to come out. I stopped my bid at $775.00 AND WALKED OUT THE DOOR. I have been in retail for 30 years and never seen such poor handling of a sale on something. I think she representd Colonial Antique Mall and the Wisconsin Historical Society very badly. This has gven both of you a bad reputation and I will tell everyone about my experience. I have had cancer twice and beat it and this upset me so much for the weekend and still now that I would have never put my self in a postion as this. I will NEVER go to Colonial Antique Mall ever again. Very bad way to do business!!!!
