Located in Downtown Burj Dubai, the Burj Khalifa Tower is currently the highest building in the world! Formally called the Burj Dubai, the tower's construction began in September 2004 and opened in January 4, 2010. The tower stands over a whopping 800 meters (2625 feet) tall. Burj Khalifa was created to demonstrate Dubai's importance to the world. The tower contains the Armani Hotel and private residences. The tower will also contain the world's fastest elevator.
