Three Sisters (The)
This is more than your average theme pub. There are four bars to choose from: drink from pitchers and shooters in the American; sip Guinness in the Irish bar's confessional booths; get spooked and spirited in the Gothic section; or join the throngs in the courtyard when the sun appears (which is rare, considering it is shaded). If you are still standing, there is free access to the dance venue upstairs. It attracts an assorted clientele, with the bulk being 30-something's and a fair sprinkling of Edinburgh glitterati.
My husband and I loved this place. We really only found out about it because we were staying at the Tailors Hall Hotel which was attached to the Three Sisters. We had a great time there. I find it funny that they describe it as a place for the thirty something crowd since my husband and I were in our early 30's when we visited and felt like we were probably the oldest people there. We still never felt out of place and loved it and look forward to the day that we get to visit again. Hopefully we wont be too old by then. I also wanted to add that we really liked the Tailors hall hotel as it was pleasant and very close to the sights of the city and were able to walk everywhere. We both highly recommend.
MYSELF AND A GROUP OF GIRLFRIENDS VISITED EDINBURGH RECENTLY FOR THE SECOND YEAR. LAST YEAR THE BARMAN AT OUR HOTEL RECOMMENDED THE THREE SISTERS, SO WE DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY... WE WENT BOTH NIGHTS LAST YEAR, AND ENDED UP THERE AGAIN THIS YEAR! ITS GOT EVERYTHING YOU WOULD NEED, GOOD MUSIC, GOOD COMPANY AND LOTS OF FRIENDLY PEOPLE! WE'LL BE GOING BACK AGAIN NEXT YEAR... CAN'T WAIT!!!
Following a very wet day at the Highland Show, which necessitated a prolonged stay in the dryest place- the BEER tent, a quick trip back to the hotel to dry out, and eat, we found the three Sisters bar in full swing. World cup action provided entertainment for the multi national crowd, and then onwards and upwards to the nightclub floor. An excellent venue for all tastes, cant wait to go back!
