Outhouse (The), Edinburgh

This is an archetypal bar in the Broughton Street area - relaxing, laid back and predominantly but not exclusively gay. Shoot some pool or if there is the merest hint of the sun, head for the open air courtyard with boule court (rare in Edinburgh). Spice up your visit with a pitcher of Mai Tai or one of the other cocktails. The Outhouse plays host to the occasional pre-club and literary event too. This modern and welcoming place was recently included in GQ magazine's top 50 bars in Britain.
