Suruchi, Edinburgh

I and my partner went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago and the meal was brilliant. The service, welcome and the ambience was fabulous. I think this is one of the best Indian Restaurant in Edinburgh or may be Scotland. I will definitely go back again. Thank you very much for such a nice meal.

Its been a while I am living in Edinburgh and being an Indian it was quite depressing to go for an Indian meal or a curry until we found "Suruchi". The restaurent trully defines its brand name. Food is really tasty and there is no difference in authenticity. The HAGGIS FRITTER and SOUTH INDIAN LAMB curry with black pepper is my favorite and BUTTER CHICKEN is a must . The ambience in the restaurant reminds me of India. The staff were very helpful to our needs. It is very spacious and well maintained.These all made me a regular customer and will recommend everyone to have a pleasurable indian meal in the Suruchi restaurant.

We dined at Suruchi in Nicolson Street at the end of last week. Unbelievably good meal better in quality than some of the upscale restaurants in India. I think the quality of the ingredients they use is superb. Nan breads were fab and so was the butter chicken. I do not think any Indian restaurant in Edinburgh has a menu like this. So close to the original Indian cuisine you get when you visit Goa or Delhi. Thoroughly recommend any traveller to Edinburgh to try it.

We went out with friends to Suruchi opposite the Festival Theatre last week. Had a fabulous Indian meal. Truly authentic. Didn't have any cheap British curries in the menu and decided to go for the banquet that the manager recommended. Great dining experience. There was a lovely jazz band playing too. Great part atmosphere.

very dirty place. spoilt my valentines dinner with my wife. dirty floor, tablecloth and very unsightly toilets. food was ok but everything else was not appetising. definitly a no no. highly not recommended.

I had read that this reataurant had gone down hill, but I returned there in fall of 2006 after an absence of a year, and any problems they had are in the past. The butter chicken is the best ever.

very dirty place with cockroaches(yes) and rats scuttling along the floor. it was un believeable to see such a dirty restaurant in edinburgh. the owner was all words when it came to selling up his place but it was disgraceful to keep the place in such a mess(even after charging top prices). the food itself was ok-good, but i wouldnt ever want to step in the restaurant again.think about feeding your young children food which was cooked in a dodgy kitchen. strongly not recommended.
