African-American History Monument
Sculptured by Ed Dwight of Denver, Colorado, this monument displays images, including the Jim Crow era, an auction block and sports and political pioneers, that depict African-Americans' history from the Middle Passage to the present. At the base of the monument's obelisk are four rubbing stones from regions of Africa where slaves were captured - Senegal, Sierra Leone, the Republic of Congo and Ghana.
I thought this place was very informative and a change from the normal painted history of S.C. This site depicted some of the cruelties and accomplishments that Afro Americans had to endeavor. Some history scares some people especially when it was the truth. Good site need a bigger scale done or a state muesum, history should not be stash away. All people history
