Bangor Marina
Description
Bangor Marina is the largest in Ireland and currently has berths for more than 500 crafts—some achievement considering it has only been in existence since 1989. It has 24-hour access and sailors are attracted by its prime location in the heart of the town, right on Queen's Parade at the bottom of Main and High Streets. The marina also houses crafts from four local yacht clubs: Ballyholme, Holywood, the Royal Ulster and the Royal North of Ireland and recently held the World Powerboat Championships, to great worldwide acclaim. The marina has helped boost tourism in North Down as international sailors discover the excellent facilities and warm welcome they receive from locals. Oh, and, ladies—Simon, "Duran Duran" Le Bon is a regular!
