Chikutei, Mimasaka-Shi

This cozy two-story inn, with a lovely garden and fantastic hot-spring baths, is located in the Yunogo hot-spring area on the Yoshii River, about 75 miles from Osaka. The rooms are wood paneled in the Japanese style. There are separate bathing facilities for men and women but with a unique twist: the women's bath is strategically placed. Women who are tired of men playing "peeping Tom" in the communal baths can extract revenge by peeping back. The water in which this spicy game of revenge is played out is classified as simple thermal and is great for rheumatism, stiff joints and relief of stress.
