Indie Spice Cafe & Wine Bar, Belfast

We decided to go for lunch today with our 9 week old baby. After parking and getting all his things together we headed in. The sign outside said open until 2:30 and it was only 2:15pm. The waiter bluntly told us the chef was finishing up so we couldn't be served. I asked him why it said 2:30 outside and his reply was that the chef wouldn't be there. Such poor customer service. I do not recommend eating there. Go to Jharna on the Lisburn Rd which is owned by them it's far better.

Visited Indie Spice during the week before going to the Theatre. I love Indian Food but the food here is awful! The food was cold, the waiter was rude and we were very disappointed! There are lots of other good Indian Restaurants so we will not be back.

Loved it, only has take outs! Recommended, best indian i have ever had. so tastey. yum yum. going tonite again, cant wait. Free wine when spend £20.

I have visited Indie Spice for more than 10 years as a regular visitor to Belfast. I am vegetarian and after checking on early visits my consistent practice has been to order 2 vegetable side dishes with rice or bread - my bill is usually �17-�20. Over the years I have become known and have been greeted warmly by regular staff excepting the usual manager who is consistently unfriendly and arrogant. On Wednesday 04 April I went to the restaurant at about 6.30pm. Only three downstairs tables were occupied - it was quiet. On ordering my my two side dishes the manager asked abruptly "so no main course?" and then said "well, I'll do it just this one time". I reminded him that I had asked for my usual order and was a longstanding customer. No response. I asked him what had changed since my previous visit a matter of a few weeks earlier. No response. I then informed him that his attitude was unacceptable and left, never to return. After reading other reviews, I am left wondering how many other customers the manager may have offended. You have been warned!

After we arrived and were seated we ordered are meal. We had to wait for 50 minutes for a meal. The waitress was extremely rude and told us we shouldn't order the same thing even though we all liked this particularly dish and all wanted it. When the food finally arrived it semi-warm and after a few mouthfuls one of our party found a hair in the chicken korma and chicken mesala. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the waiter at the bar who noticed our fustration and offered us free drinks, this however did not compensate for the overpriced hair raising experience.

Food quality is prefect. nicley decor. friendly service. good value of money. jalfrizi was beautifull, actuall the best i ever had. good price for carry out.

Quick service and quality food, excellent for lunch, highly recommended and very reasonable rates. Beautiful creamy sauces and breast meat. Starters ok, mains the best and desert to die for!

I'm a regular to indie and the food is always fantastic, staff helpful and very friendly. We were left to talk as we wanted, not bothered by waiting staff, which happens alot in other restuarants. The whole experience was causal and easy-going with great food.
