Bishop's has grown so much over the years you wonder if it will eventually take over the McDonald's next door. This is a fish and chip shop with a difference. It's got two sections, one is the conventional chippie, the other is a restaurant with a huge seating capacity. The service in the restaurant is friendly and efficient. The whole place is always busy, offering you a good glimpse of Belfast life. Some people claim that the chips here are the best in Belfast, in fact, Bishop's won the Northern Ireland Fish and Chips of the Year Award. Choice extends to burgers and a few vegetarian options.
This place was relaxing although busy wether your drunk or sober if your hungry you will still eat. It is the ideal place for not splashing out too much cash and close to all the good nite spots so that you can heat up inside before you go back outside to sell your roses.
went here on monday 24th march 2008, and was very disappointed. sat at a dirty table for around 15mins, before a glum faced waitress came to take our order and then cleared our table. we ordered our food and about 20mins later got cold over cooked chips and very cold curry sauce, the chicken was fine, at least it was warm!!!!! staff need to smile a little and look like they want to be there, probably one of the worst meals i've ever had and paid 20 quid for the pleasure!! will never be back.
