Suwanna Thai Restaurant

Description

This intimate restaurant prides itself on its dedication to authentic Thai cuisine. Set right on the Golden Mile, it is an ideal starting place before heading out on the town. On the menu are beautifully aromatic green curries, wum salads or peanut noodle stir fries. If you want to sample the restaurant's best, and are absolutely starving and with someone else, take on their banquet menu for five courses with tea or coffee.

I loved the food very well and the professional waiter called sun was very kind enough to help on explaining the variety of foods from the menu. Excellent service and millions thanks for the chef as well.I will definitely be back again in future.

Not very good
By ,
Arrived without a reservation and was assured this was not a problem. Seated beside the toilet and kitchen then it was rush, rush to get us fed and out. The food was o.k. but nothing special and not very authentic. The meal and drinks were over priced for the quality. Don't think I'll return.

Love it!
By ,
Great food, very authentic in my opinion, having eaten in Thailand and also in Suwanna within weeks of one another! Very pleasant staff, willing to cater for small and large parties. One evening we arrived for a quick meal as I had to work at 9pm. They were very willing to serve and cook quickly for us and most attentive throughout.

I would not eat there anymore
By ,
We dropped by with my friends. First of all the waitress put us close to the window which probably had huge holes, because the draft was so strong. After 3 minutes we asked on whether we could be moved because of the cold. She agreed, reluctantly, with an expression on her face "OH god, what a bother". Once the food arrived, I was Dissappointed, it was the most untasty Thai food I ever ate in my life. And I lived in Thailand for 4 months. Such a bad food in addition was overpriced, and the waitresses had serious attitude problem. Whoever likes good food, though in Belfast it is a relative thing, I would NOT recommend to eat there, a big dissappointment.

Worth going though!
By ,
Likes: brilliant coconut rice and pad thai (noodles); Dislikes: kinda Britishish/Anglicanised foodwise, have eaten in Thai markets in thailand, and the food's def different in Thailand. Much lighter, less oyster sauce, less sweet, cleaner, clearer.. maybe more authentic dishes like pineapple rice, duck noodles, thai satay (moos stick-like those you can get by the roadside stalls in thailand). Overall: great if you havent been to thailand, but def worth going again..try to friend there so you can sample a greater variety of dishes (btw 5 of us, we had 3 starters, 4 mains, 3 sides--def the noodles and coconut rice). side dishes like steamed rice can be a tad pricey... but you are paying for the services as well. PS: try not to be late, always fully booked, and set times for the next booking to arrive..

By far the best and most authentic restaurant in Belfast!
By ,
This restaurant is a real find. The food is gorgeous with fresh and unique flavours, those who have commented negatively on this restaurant must have inexperienced taste buds or just ignorant to new experiences. It does not look like much inside however this is not overly important when the food is so good! Id rather eat in a place with basic decor than an over done up place with bad food and bad attitude. Highly recommended! we need more places lke this in Belfast

Thai - not for beginners
By ,
Do not agree with previous review by 'A Yahoo User'- Sounds to me like he/she is not used to trying different food and would guess that this was the first time this person had tasted Thai. The food served at Suwanna is the best Thai I have tasted in Belfast- Thai Village on Dublin road comes a close second. The service and ambience were found lacking but the food and price make up for it.
