The enormous Villa Toscana is a new and stylish addition to the foreign food restaurants in Bangor. The decor is stylish, Italian, cluttered but cosy, and you can't help noticing the beautiful water piece as you enter. A wide range of excellent pasta and pizza dishes are of course available. The seafood lasagne in its creamy sauce is especially recommended - served with a side of garlic potatoes. There is more to choose from besides authentic Italian fare however: steak, chicken, and soups are also popular fixtures on the menu. The service is fast and pleasant and the expected range of Italian wines are naturally on offer - try a few of those and you'll soon believe you're in Italy itself.
This used to be my favorite place but after changing management it went seriously down hill. We thought we would give it another try after a long time away. It was the best meal we had in ages, highly recommend the spiced red snapper & the pork fillet. so we will definately be back!!
Food was reasonable. Toilets dirty. Bizarre/incongruous sweet (candy) machines next to serving area, (bubble gum etc). Sweet menus well spotted with grease.
Didn't clear table properly. Waiters not engaged with task.
Crappy noticeboard randomly papered with taxi ads.
Door handles missing; cheap and nasty detailing.
Whole place really run down.
REALLY GONE DOWNHILL; don't bother.
I dont think i really need to say more than that.Absolutely the worst meal we ever had. Nothing italian about this place anymore!!We thought our taste buds had died, then wished they had becouse the duck had a taste and smell of fish!!Sorbet was solid and melon hard and uncut.Hilarious.
Service was poor too, with Staff arguing and chatting over us even before we complained.
Villa toscana is just another example of North Down's obsession with the deep fat fryer and quantity over quality.
The food here is about as Italian as a Pizza Hut pizza and the interior is as stylish as the nearby housing estate. It's beyond me how they've been getting away with this for so long. At least some of the wine is Italian.
Enjoy long summer evenings looking out over the Halford's car park, or if you're really luck you'll get a prize spot with uninterupted views of the Bangor Ring Road, one could almost be in Tuscany (If one were blind, deaf and lacking in sense of smell and/or taste).
Avoid this place if you value your taste buds or sanity. Multo crapissimo...
