An unpleasant dining experience

We visited the Rajpoot on a Saturday lunchtime and were surprised to find that apart from our group of 8 there was only one other occupied table. Our subsequent experience suggested why that might be.
The service was slow and surly. Most of the staff seemed to be more intent on chatting amongst themselves that serving customers. The food when it came was barely average and several of the main courses were served almost cold. The food certainly did not justify the price premium paid here.
One wonders how the Rajpoot acquired its good reputation - we saw nothing to justify it and shall not be returning.
