A large, popular Swiss restaurant housed in a former arsenal built in 1487 -- expect good food and a rowdy atmosphere. The menu features traditional German dishes such as sausages, sauerkraut, Wiener schnitzel and outstanding potato salad, plus a variety of beers. Hurlimann beer -- a favorite among the Swiss -- is dispensed from 1,000-liter barrels. Patio dining is available in the spring and summer.

DON'T go IF you're looking for GOOD food !

My family visited this place in May, 2009. We were very disappointed with the food and it was expensive too. Ever since we visited here, I've always joked to my children and friends : "This is THE place that cost me almost $100 for just 3 hot dogs." -- Well, of course, on their menu, they had a better name for the hot dog !

We visited this place twice during our 4 days' stay in Zurich - based on the idea that you don't replace a winning horse... Great traditional food - we liked CORDON BLU with ROSTI the best. The atmosphere is very warm and hospitable, service is very fast and efficient; the prices are good (we paid about 80 CHF for 2 main courses, 2 beers and 1 dessert).
