Frequently referred to as one of the best Italian eateries in Geneva, La Trattoria serves up an enormous selection of excellent pizza and pasta in vast quantities. This restaurant is particularly renowned for its penne maison (aubergine, tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella). Tables are crammed together for a cozy atmosphere in winter; while in summer, a modest sidewalk terrace is available. The service is sometimes erratic here and largely depends on the mood of the whimsical staff.
One of the best place in Geneva for penne siciliana but the rudness of the employees can leave a bad taste and a bad lunch/dinner experience.
I went to that place several times for lunch for the food, and the short time spent there.
The rudness of the employee piss me off and I go there only with colleagues at lunch time as they can serve a large group rapidly.
fresh and tasety food reasonable prices (for geneva). food arrived fast and fresh. waiter was acting like he is doing us a favor by serving us and gave us the feeling of "if you do not know what you supposed to order i can not help and you are waisting my time".
Service was outstanding - also the food is the BEST I've eaten in the two weeks we've been in Geneva. With all the high cost of everything here - you can't go wrong eating here. Is there anything on the menu that isn't great?
It's a lovely place with a lot of charm!
The food is excellent, try the "Penne Siciliana"!
For me the best is pasta but a lot of my friends love pizzas to. But there is also a lot of meat and fish who are really good.
It will be to bad to miss the chance to eat in this restaurant if your in Geneva.
The service is terrible. The waiters seems when asked to explain some of the dishes on the menu and they. This is a place where they want you get in quickly, decide quickly, eat quickly and leave quickly, which is quite rude in my opinion. But the pizzas are great and some of the pasta dishes are good, but not far from excellent.
What I liked:
Their signature dish 'Penne la aubergine' is the best you can find in Switzerland. It is delicious, the servings are huge and the service is friendly. They have a good selection of red wines. They also have great pizzas baked in a real wood burning oven and other stuff.
What I liked less:
It is pricey (but so is many things in Switzerland), the tables are a bit crowded together so it is sometimes difficult to get in and out of our seats and it may take a while to get your food.
Bold, invigorating design has modernised the interior of the Mövenpick on the rue du Cendrier beyond recognition. The voluminous space
comprises two cafe areas, bar, à la carte restaurant and a counter serving deservedly famous ice cream. In the ...
