A great collection

On my visit to Madrid, I was able to visit the Prado, Museo Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Prado is huge, beautiful and has a great collection of classical Spanish art including many pieces by Diego Velazquez, Goya, and El Greco and allows photograpy. The Museo Sofia is more contemporary and had some great Picasso pieces and Joan Miro (does not allow photography). The Museo Thyseen is smaller but has a great diversity in painting varying from classical to contemporary and has a good array of pieces ranging from Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh, to paintings from the 1800's. I loved all the museums but I really enjoyed the way the Thyssen museum was set up because there are 3 floors and each one displays a different era of paintings.
