Terrible in-store experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/07
Just wanted to share my terrible store experience at Zara Herald Square, NY. I went into the store and spent 10 minutes browsing. Just as I was leaving, the alarm went off. The security guard was extremely rude in handling the situtaion. He checked my backbag finding that it was clear, and then checked my wallet, which was so small that it could hold nothing but credit cards. Then I walked back into the store to talk to the store manager about the guard's behavior, but she was as rude if not more. All she said was that Zara had the right to check their customers' belongings. Frustrated with her attitude, I decided to leave the store, only to be stopped by the security guard again, who this time started threatening me so that I would let him find what it was on me that made the alarm go off. Just as he was going to examine my clothes, the store manager told him to let me go. Clearly, these people are unaware of how to treat customers properly. After this experience in the store, I am determined not to go to Zara ever again.
