Mercado de Fuencarral

Description

A mix between an ordinary urban shopping center and a flea market, this place opened in 1998 to fill a gap in the market - for youth fashion. All those teenagers with a passion for shopping couldn't find find what they wanted in conventional stores, but they can here, amongst all the stalls selling bags, belts, clothes, jewelry, music and furniture. The essential accessories are available as well - piercing, tattoos, hairstyles and Internet access.

Independent artists unite!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/08
As amazing as the atmosphere on Calle Fuencarral is, it's still, for the most part, a strip of chain stores that you probably have at home. Enter Mercado de Fuencarral, three floors of local vendors and artists offering everything from handbags to haircuts. Also a good place to grab an armload of flyers to track down where the cool kids hang out.

New tendences
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/04
Fuencarral is a street of Madrid near Gran Via. The center of the suburban is an old market of three floors where there are a lot of "new concept" shops. It's the place where born the new tendences of Spain. Around the market live a suburban with clothes shops, shoe shops, coiffure (or something looks like), etc... If you want to sleeep in Fuencarral you can go to Hostal Nuria, Lido etc.. (all about 25 - 50 <80> /night).

If you want good bars go to "Penta" (a bar with a lot of history of the 80's. Fuencarral is near Pacha discoteque, Joy Slava, It was a theatre and now it-s a good discoteque

For my the best time to go is in November. I amb will go tomorrow to visit Simo computer in the ifema

Excuse me for my poor english, I hope I have helped you.
