Description

This vegetarian restaurant has been in business forever and it remains popular because of its central location and low prices. The menu offers few surprises, but delivers good staple dishes like pizza, organic gazpacho, vegetable curry and a selection of salads. The house speciality is oven-roasted vegetables. Try the aubergines and spinach in particular. To drink, you can choose from a range of fresh natural fruit juices and wines from Ribera, Rioja, Valdepeñas and Penedes. Its simple interior decor is nothing more than white walls and a few plants placed here and there. It's a non-smoking restaurant and there's another branch on Calle Tres Cruces,4 (+34 91 521 8721).

Best ever vegatarian cusine
By Jan, 12/4/06
This friendly, pleasant, pretty restaurant will give you a new appreciation of what a great chef can do with (non-Indian) vegatarian cuisine. The soups, salads, and other appetizers are extraordinarliy flavorful and fresh. The "second courses" can be so substantial that you will completely forget they are all vegetables. And the price is very low by Madrid standards -- 40 euros a person for three courses, nice wine, coffee or tea, and a generous tip. Note: Artemisa is not "ideological" like many American vegetarian restaurants -- the menu includes a small section of non-vegitatarian dishes for those who prefer, and makes liberal use of cheese, butter, and cream.

delicious
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/05
Finding this vegetarian restaurant in Madrid was wonderful after eating my weight worth of tortilla all week long. And it was delicious! Highly recommend the seitan manicotti with dill.
