We can be certain that construction work began on the church of San Carlos in 1785, but we cannot be sure when it was completed. The church is rectangular with a single nave, and the entrance has a porch (a typical feature of other churches on the island). Next to the church, in the parish building hall, an international piano competition is held every year at the end of the tourist season.
