Hopping on one of these buses is a great way to see Barcelona quickly without getting exhausted. There are two routes—South and North—and they both focus on the most important sights. The North Route ends up at Tibidabo and the South Route at Port Olímpic. Buy a day-ticket on the bus and you can get on and off as often as you like. You also get an information leaflet about the sights on the tour, which takes two hours. Buses pass every 20-30 minutes.
Terrible. Overcrowded. Could not get back on buses

We bought tickets for the bus coming off a cruise ship, with an empty bus clearly in sight. The rep then pointed us to a bus stop 100m away with a long line of people waiting. We waited 45 minutes to get a bus out of the harbor area. It was the same at every stop -- hour long waits to get back on the bus as a series of already full buses came and went. It may be OK off season but it was horrible on a Wednesday in July. We eventually gave up and took metro and city buses. Waste of money.
