Bagel Shop (The), Barcelona

This is a very original place with a New York ambience, specializing in bagels (sesame, poppy seed, plain, raisin, chocolate, etc.) and sandwiches filled or topped with the most varied ingredients, such as salmon, cream cheese, turkey, and vegetables. They also have vegetable soup, salads, cakes, lasagne and traditional desserts, such as apple pie. The shop is always packed with American tourists, although it is slowly but surely winning over locals - the bagel is still quite a novelty in Spain. It's a great place for non-New Yorkers to comment on their last trip to the Big Apple and reminisce over a bagel sandwich. There is no set menu and you can also get them to go.
