Botafumeiro Moncho, Barcelona

Once a year i take weekend trip to Barcelona from Iceland just to dine there. Love everything about this place. Food is Fantastic,grate atmosphere and one of the best service i ever had. Its a Grate place for a Romantic diner for 2, as well for celebration with family and friends!!!

We had a fantastic meal. The fish was fresh, lobster was excellent; shrimp was superb; the service was great. Would recommend this restaurant. I would make an effort to go back when I return to Barcelona.

everything was perfect. best seafood ın town. ıt ıs expensive but good value for money. you need to make a reservation before you go. wine cellar ıs also very good service qualıty was high ever since our visit we have advised ıt to our friends and they have also greatly enjoyed theirselves

I was there twice summer 2007. The first time I was there it was absolute perfection. The food is incredible, we had Oysters for an appetizer (it was my first time having them and they were delecious). I had crab for dinner, they bring the crab to you and ask if it's ok or you want a different one. The waiters all speak 3 to 4 different languages, it's amazing. We ordered way to many desserts, they were all delicous, definitely try the Crema Catalan. I couldn't eat for like 3 days after my dinner. The second time I went, we were sitting right in the center of the restuarant (the first time we had a corner table) it got pretty loud and that destroyed the ambiance. The restuarant is pretty expensive but it's a dining experience and definitely worth it.

This meal was the worst experiance we have had in various visits to Barcelona. It was expensive, main courses up to 90 euros. We can forgive most things in a fish restaurant but unfresh fish is at this price is unacceptable. Considering how many great restaurants their are in Barca this is one to avoid. A sticky tourist trap feeding on its past reputation.

Fried baby squid to start with was quite a treat. Never had them before and was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt greasy. For entree, the tender sea bass portion was just right, (although I was wanting for more after)but the sauce along with almost caramelized onions sent me to heaven. The grand marnier souffle which took 10 minutes was worth every second of the wait. The soft flame of the grand marnier, poured by our freindly server, warmed the souffle to perfection. Presentation of each course was simple, unlike haute cuisine with huge plates and garnishing that would put Gaudi to shame.The menu had king crabs and lobsters, caviar, but if the flavor was as good as we experienced then we are ready for our next treat at Botafumeiro. BTW I saw photos of former presidents Clinton, G H Bush, Gorbachev,also Julio Iglesias, one of the desperate housewives and a lot of others on the wall.

Ate here on the first night of our honeymoon. The service and the food were excellent. It is somewhere we have recommended to all our friends as it depicts all the good of Spain. The value for money was extremely good for the service and the food. Great for a romantic meal or for a group celebration.

Its a great restaurant, the food is delicious. We were in Barca for 4 nights, and had 2 dinners! After Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-0, we even met with few Barca players in the restaurant. You can have dinner until late.
