Petropavlovskaia Krepost' (Peter and Paul Fortress), St. Petersburg

This is definitely near the top of the list of must-see attractions in St Petersburg, if not the top. The cathedral is incredible and it is recommended to learn the alphabet so you can read the names on the tombs so you can know which ones you are seeing. I was not a big fan of the torture museum but a couple of the people in my group liked it. Some of the people in our group realized how sad and horrible it was. I guess there are torture museums all over Europe so if you've seen one, I would skip this one. Be sure to take a walk around the wall and along the river. You will probably get to see some 70 year old women changing in to their bathing suits and going into the freezing water.

I would recommed to every one to go to the fortress, just becuase it is an incredible peace of history , breath -taking and amazing. You learn a lot from just coming to that place. The history for examle, and you see the graves of the czars. It is indeed very facinating, eduvational, and capturing.
