James Cook Pub and Cafe, St. Petersburg

When we ordered our London Pride we were presented with two pints of some non-descript black foul tasting liquid. These arrived at our table in a shorter space of time than I would deem it possible to pour even one beer properly and suggests that they had already been poured and been standing a while. When questioned, the rather rude waitress (who didn't even stop and address us properly) tried to tell us that "London pride" was a stout! It most definately is not! Thus the title of this review. I do not feel it is too strong. This is what happened to us at James Cooks. (Petrogradskaya. I cannot speak for its other branches)

We didn't eat here, but spent all night drinking and talking music with the bar man. He was like our own personal DJ and kept playing songs we loved, and even had us translate a few lines he didn't understand. We had a great night there simply because of him. We didn't actually spend any time looking around the place or even talking to anyone else.

Did not stay for a meal as many were smoking and the ventilation is not good. Menu looked OK but do not understand how you rate this No 1?
