If you're pining for Western food during your borscht laden trip/stay in Petersburg, I recommend Il Patio. The service is friendly, the fare is good, and the prices are astonishingly good for a restaurant located on Nevskii. Unfortunately, it's Russia so some of the dishes are slightly confusing. For example chicken parmasean does not involve tomatoe sauce (much to the dismay of a friend of mine). However, the pizzas and lasagna are quite good and the menu is extremely vegetarian friendly. Menus are available in English.
