Victory Park (Park Pobedy)

Description

This beautiful park was opened in 1995 to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of Russia's victory over Nazi Germany during the "great Patriotic War" (WWII). The war left Russia in shambles, but its struggle to persevere and push forward created a great deal of national consciousness amongst its citizens. This park illustrates and immortalizes the brave tales and the heroic people who fought for their land. A central museum, memorial complex, orthodox church and monument of victory are spread amongst an abundance of lakes, flower gardens and grasslands. Be sure to check out the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War, which is located in the western section of the park. A beautiful place to visit for any occasion. Perfect for an afternoon out with the family.

Everyone should see this

This is the most dramatic war memorial in the world. Simple as that. A life changing experience for me. It is hard to put in in words. I will never forget visiting this place. When you go to Moscow, this is a must. Ron Schwartz (was there in 1997)

i love it

i love it. i live in moscow and it is a place with hitory and fun. i like it because it is wonderful. you can go roller bladeing in the summer, go in a world war 2 trench.

I saw this on yahoo as things to see in moscow. I decided to see and didn't know what to expect and it was well worth the visit. It just blew me away. It was amazing. If you like world war II things or anything that deals with war this in one thing you must see. It is so beautiful and moving.
