Gorky Park, Moscow

I thought Gorky Park was great!! The best time is to go is in Winter, because the park if full of natural ice and you can skate round the park, if you haven't got skates with you - there is a skate hire , the place where you go to get your skates gets a bit full! But you do eventually get the skates! hehe But not only is it good in winter, it's good in summer too! Because the park is full of rides, ranging from rollercoasters to the pirate ship! There are cafes and stalls you can buy memorabilia from. I would definately recommend Gorky Park, if you were going to Moscow!

I was at Gorky Park in 2004. The rides were county fair like. Most seem to have been imported from German Octoberfest type parks about 10 years ago. I was not sure that the rides were entirely safe or well maintained but nothing happened. The park itself was easy to reach using public transportation. It was family friendly and clean. There was food and drink to be had but I was too nauseated from some washing machine like torture ride to try any. All in all, it is a fun way to spend a summer day in Moscow.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW, open air ice skating, feel yourself russian by q'ing for an hour for skates, have a beer when your feet are killing you on a rink side bar, theres also a funpark. we were on our way to an art gallery when we stumbled across Gorky Park, we had to go in, skated hand in hand in the snow, one of the most romantic and memorable things I done in Moscow.
