Metropolitan, Krakow

There is no lack of choice of restaurants in Krakow but Metropolitan, one street back from the saquare, and its assosciated club "M Club" are both exceptionally good. You have a choice of dishes and wines which the staff happily explain to you.The price is most reasonable but the quality and friendly service make you happy to return and ignore the more touristy places. After your meal, walk around the corner to "M club" and enjoy a drink of your choice in a cosy sophisticated club which would not be out of place amongst the best in London. Discoveries like these make business trips to Krakow a pleasure.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned the breakfast buffet. Great food is easy to find in Krakow (this place has it as well) but a breakfast buffet: cold cuts, bacon, sausage, cheeses, cereal, fruit, muesli, scrambled eggs plus eggs/omelettecooked to order. ADD to that unlimited American coffee as well as unlimited orange, apple, pineapple juice. And tables large enough to hold your food plus a newspaper! All for around $8 USD

From the moment you walk in through the door, the staff are pleasant and attentive. There is a varied menu with great quality food and a wide range of drinks to chose from. It's a lovely place and well worth a visit.

Friends had told me about Metroploitan but I was sceptical until I tried it. It is not pretentious but everything about the place works and allows you to enjoy your lunch or dinner. You are immediately greeted by charming wait staff. Start at the bar as the Barman takes pride in presnting you with your favourite cocktail , as you like it. After this it only gets better! The food is tasty, fresh and served hot , and the choice is excellent. Uncertain about what you feel like. Don't hesitate to ask the wait staff they obviously know what they are talking about and are rightly proud of their reputation. The you are in for a pleasant surprise. The price is very reasonable and you do not have a service charge automatically tacked on your bill. It is a pleasure to tip in Metropolitan and the staff show their appreciation.

I visit Krakow fairly regularly on business and my staff generally try and impress me with taking me to the fancy new theme style restaraunt - old polish but generally kitsch places. When I am allowed to choose their is only the one choise - Metropolitan. I have been visiting this restaurant since 2000 and the service and menu are best in Krakow. The owners are also wine experts and they have an excellent wine list by the glass - important for the lone traveller. What a pleasant change - keep up the good work

go there, then you will know why it's really worth to come back there.. great food, and in the evening the bar is full of suprises with great drinks Martynka is one of the best waitresses there!

A very friendly restaurant with excellent service and food. The menu is well balanced and on the various occassions we ate there the various dishes were all cooked to our requested taste served elegantly and with a smile. A wonderful change to most experiences in Poland, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
