Anne Frank House
Description
Anne Frank and her family went into hiding here on July 6, 1942, and lived in isolation for over two years. The German occupation removed all the furniture when the inhabitants were detained in 1944. However, films and other media, including Anne's diary, give a good idea of what life was like. The museum opened on May 3, 1960, and an enormous visitors' center was constructed in the 1980s. Check website for information on upcoming events and exhibitions.
did you know a us... director' of jewish blood, funded to remake the original house... into a tourist attraction.... and it is expensive,
was great when it was the real thing.
Not like I had imagined but very cool. It was interesting to see how I could relate to Anne being a young girl with photos posted to the walls in her room.
I'm glad I can say I've been there. Really wasn't what I was expecting. Very crowded and hard to read the displays. If u can't get in line 1st thing in the am come back around 5:30
This was a place I have been waiting to visit since I 1st read the book as a young girl. It was amazing and a little depressing but def worth seeing. It was hard to locate but once I was there I was very impressed with the way the secret Annex was turned into a place where the world can learned what took place during World War II. You must go visit if you go to Amsterdam!
É uma visita que não pode deixar de ser feita.
É muito comovente a História de Anne Frank e seus familiares.
Sempre tem gente emocionada.
Meus amigos gostaram muito.
Voltarei sempre que puder
i went in feb 08 it was a very sad yet happy place the thing about the photos on the wall to is she put them there most places in history are rebuilt but apart from a bit at the bottom the house is the way it was the joy and sadness was there i dont cry much but i had a tear in my eye and could feel her presence there i will go again for 7/8euro it is worth every bit small thing the shopis a bit tacky we allread about her more than once years ago why all the books etc is it right to sit dringing tea and cakes when this family lived on just about nothing god bless you anna
The authentic artifacts are interesting. However, i expected to see more in the way of how the house was actually set up. The captions for each item or event were not acurately translated from Dutch to English. I expected more of a interactive experience.
