Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Amsterdam

(March 2005) The Paulus Potterstraat site in Museumplein is closed. A temporary exhibit, Leporello 1874-2004 is open near the Centraal Station, in an East German style building that is a marked contrast to the older part of Amsterdam. The collection, said by some to be one of Amsterdam's "Top 10" sights, cannot be seen in Amsterdam, except for the 131 works in the Leporello Collection. Bal Tabarin by Jan Sluijters (1907) was a delight. We recommend trying to find out how much of the collection can be seen during your visit before deciding whether to go.
