Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam

THIS MUSEUM WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, TERRIFIC, INSPIRATIONAL, & MAGNIFICENT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT IN USA....I WISH WE COULD HAVE MORE IN-YOUR-FACE ART HISTORY BUT TO ME PERSONALLY WE DON'T. OVERALL I GIVE THIS AN A+++

My visit to the Van Gogh Museum was somewhat disappointing. Although I understand that original paintings must be protected from excessive light exposure, the lighting in the museum was downright dim. The pieces on display were not representative of the exuberant color that we have come to identify with Van Gogh. I planned my trip to Amsterdam, in part, to immerse myself in the Van Gogh experience. Although the museum was a letdown, the city of Amsterdam far surpassed my expectations. What a glorious place of cafes, canals, bicycles, boutiques and beautiful people!

I loved the exquisit art work that was on display! I am a huge fan of Van Gogh and was so happy to see those paintings! I didn't like how amny stairs there were.

there were alot of people most completely ignorant of art trying to see everything very fast making the visit unbearable. Less people and van Gogh would make it the best in the world.

Lots of great paintings, so if that's what you like and of course if you like Van Gogh then absolutely should go there. Think it was quite expensive though if I can recall right...

Are you kidding me? This place was GREAT! After a couple of hours of looking at these fabulous pieces of art I needed a cigarette! I was practically in tears, I was so impressed. Of course, I'm a huge fan of Van Gogh, but there are other artists' work there as well. It was one of the major highlights of my trip to Amsterdam.

The Van Gogh Museum is a wonderful experience! The walk along all of Van Gogh's Paintings is amazing. Being so close to the paintings and really getting a chance to study his work. My 7 year old daughter even enjoyed being there. She asked tons of questions and oohed and ahhed all the way through. I highly recommend all see this museum.

You should definitely not miss this if you're in town. The museum is very small and "digestable" in a few hours. The collection is small but remarkable. Also, you'll learn alot about the motivations and artistic evolution of this influential artist.

Several viewers questioned why "Starry Night" wasn't in the Van Gogh Museum. It is on view at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York City. Come visit NYC.

save your money and go get a drink. the paintings that they did have weren't really alot. u can wiat and go see van gogh some place where they can really show off his whork as a hole.
