Centra, Amsterdam

Centra is the place in which to sample authentic Spanish atmosphere, wine and tapas. The Formica tables, stacks of beer crates and fluorescent lighting all add to the authentic Spanish atmosphere. A showcase dominates part of the restaurant front, featuring a small bar with low barstools, serving tapas and drinks whilst guests wait for tables. Reservations are usually futile - it's always crowded here! Spanish waiters (or so they appear as they are clad in the traditional black-and-white) serve the delicious dishes in a somewhat hectic (but friendly) manner. The prices are not especially low, but the food on the other hand is worth it.
