Rip off?
By ,
Lunch for two: two dishes and dessert each, a full bottle and a half bottle of (relatively!) lower priced Italian white wines, macchiato + ristretto. Check: 320 Euro. Place was recommended in hotel Bauer as excellent value and having an immense wine list. The latter is undoubtedly true - a real marvel. Yet the same wines were 20% more expensive than in Bauer's own restaurant, definitely one of the most prestigious and expensive Venice restaurants... Yes, a definitely good restaurant I could easily recommend - at half the price. As it is - a classical rip off. Go to the neighboring and equally famous Do Forni - still expensive, crowded, loud, but offering same level quality cuisine at 30% lower price.

Great food! Great Service! Worth the $$
By ,
The service was quite good, along with a large and excellent menu. If you like seafoo, get the 1st course spaghetti with clams! We had an amazing 2001 bianco for 25 euros.

Fantastic Meal
By ,
You won't be sorry if you eat here. The food, service and especially the wine list are top flight. They suprisingly feature a lot of up end fried food. But the fry everything in Olive Oil. One member of my party order the french fries for that reason, and they were very tasty. The eggplant cassarole is also highly recommended, along with most fish dishes. They have a large wine list with a lot of high priced wines. But when I asked about a recommend wine in my price range, I received a recommendation for a sicilian wine that was affordable and world class. Could not recommend more highly.

Superb...you get what you pay for!
By ,
We thought this restaurant was sensational.. excellent food, brilliant wine lists, the most attentive service, great environment inside and even nicer seating outside in the courtyard....making Do Forni nearby, look totally second class in all respects..

A Grand Experience
By ,
This restuarant is only for the wealthy or a very special night. The wine list was one of the best I'd ever seen. But only relevant if you have an expense account. The food was worth every penny but very expensive.

Expensive - but worth it!
By ,
I can honestly say that I never have eaten better or had better service. I have NOTHING negative to say. Food, drink, service - excellent. You pay good money - but it is worth it.

Overpriced!
By ,
Elegant overpriced tourist targeted restaurant. Excellent but expensive wine list. Paid over $75 for a dish of fettucine with cream sauce and some shaved truffles...
