Osteria Antico Dolo
The atmosphere of this old restaurant is homely and intimate; and features a small and cozy dining room with just a few tables. The menu is traditionally Venetian with an excellent selection of Sausages and high-quality Meat and Fish choices. The Tagliolini with Scampi makes a perfect starter; then try the Hand-Whipped Cod for your main course. Booking is advisable due to popularity and limited seating, especially in the evening.
As a family of 4 with kids aged 17 and 4 (quite a task, believe me!) we went to this restaurant primarly on the strength of web reviews on this site. We found it cosy, very tolerant to the errant ways of our energetic little son, with superb service capped with excellent food. Fine dining this does not pretend to be. But we enjoyed this meal much more than others twice and thrice the price. We highly recommend to anyone spending even one night in Venice.
While in a restaurant in Florence, we happened to run into two friendly gentlemen who helped with out selections. After a lovely & lively dinner we found out they were two priests on the way to Rome who often ate in Venice. They insisted we try Osteria Antico Dolo as it was the best rest-
araunt in Venice. We did try it and it was the only restaraunt we went to twice in our whole trip. It WAS the best in Venice. (It was also the smallest, with only about 10 tables so make a reservation!!!)
i loved everthing it was the best place to go and eat i can't wait to go back the scene was lovely my girlfriend and I thought it was the best place to eat in Italy the service was great and the food was amazing
We spent several nights in Venice this past March and ate dinner at Osteria Antico Dolo on two occasions. The food is excellent. The service was good (remember, in Italy the wages aren't tip dependent, so just relax and enjoy, you're on vacation). The place is small and gets packed very quickly. I recommend the strawberry ice cream!
The Osteria is right next to Piazza Cavour, in the centre of Rimini. It's run by Oscar and Bubbana. Bubbana
is well known in Rimini as something of a magician in the way he has opened up various successful ...
