During the Christmas season, Piazza Navona is packed with stalls selling toys, sweets and decorations for the nativity scene or Christmas tree, making it a favorite spot for children. Its unusual shape recalls the time of Domitian, who built a stadium for equestrian displays. The Fountain of the Rivers with the obelisk and the Fountain of the Moor with the God of the Sea are located in the center of the square and were both sculpted by Bernini.""
piazza navona is a great place to visit and people watch. not overly crowded. great little toy store at one entrance. expensive but unique. at other end in an alley almost like a grotto is a fantastic gelato place.
nothing really i loved every bit of it the experience was the best i ever seen or felt i really really did like it you would really like it if you were a really big culture fan i would defintely visit during the winter.
As so many places in Rome, typical old world charm and fountains. Only place in Rome that furnished ice for my "coke lite" (7 Euros)
People watching , it was great. Policia chasing off peddlers like a game of hide and seek. Same ones over and over with their goods in sheets or boxes running across the Piazza. I found the reasturants a little pricy. But I loved the whole experience.
We stayed in a bed&breakfast in Rome called Obelus.
With such a convenient location, comfortable lodging, and the warm hospitality provided we will spread the word about Obelus to everyone we can.

Several British & American style pubs act as sports bars for foreign students showing European & American football. If you need to have the scores stop in. Upcomming games posted outside the doors.
Outdoor market fairly tacky.
