Our comment to kindly ask you if it is possible to change the address of the website of the restaurant and even its information, because they are wrong. Indeed there are restaurants with the same name located in Piazza Navona wich does not produce the Tartufo or, in some cases, just try to imitate it. I loved everything about Tre Scalini! The food was Amazing! I had the Tre Scalini and it was like nothing I have ever had. The service was not that great, but the service in Italy period isn't that great. The view was perfect. I can't wait to go back! It is making my mouth water just thinking about it!

Our family ate at Tre Scalini (in both the caffe & the restaurant) a few times while we were in Rome. The place has fresh fish and meat. At our first visit, we tried lamb chop, sea bass and pasta. My lamb chop was the best I've eaten anywhere. My wife loved the bass and my son enjoyed the simple yet delicious pasta dish. We tried other dishes at our next 2 visits and were equally satisfied with the quality of the food. I have to agree with the person who says that Tre Scalini's gelato is not good in comparison to those at other places in Rome but I guess one comes to Piazza Navona for the view and atmosphere rather than for ice-cream.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rome. When I was younger I would play my accordion in Piazza Navona for tips and then have dinner here as I watched the other acts. (I was an American student studying in Italy.) Sitting outside eating dinner or their famous Tartufo Gelato is a treat never to be forgotten especially when the street performers are in full swing. Later, I proposed to my wife over dinner here. While dinner is a bit pricey, the atmosphere and view make it worthwhile for a special occasion. If you're not bored by personal detail, here is my proposal story: The time was Christmas and I wanted to make an impression so I bought a small stuffed dog with a Christmas stocking around it's neck. The ring fit perfectly with only the diamond sticking out. We had a wonderful dinner and then I ordered dessert, coffee and champagne. At this point I gave her the package which she promptly unwrapped. She took the ring out and tried it on and said "nice ring". I then asked Well ??? .. and got the response ..."well what ?" Well, will you marry me. She looked at me and said, well I have to think about it. What I didn't realize is that Italians don't usually have engagements rings so this was a new concept to her. Talk about having your bubble burst. However, almost 20 years later we still laugh about it....still married. I'll never forget this place and plan to go back for our 20th anniversary.

The Gelato was inferior to any others I tried. They know they have a reputation-so they don't care about the product. Total tourist ripoff-any Gelateria is better.

I have been there 4-5 times over a period of 20 years. The atmosphere is inviting, non-rushed and the food was excellent. We are planning on stopping in again this year when we pass thru Rome.

Restaurant Tres Scallini noted for it's dark chocolate ice cream tartufo.Even though it was very cold outdoors with a gusty wind blowing I indulged in one of these.Delicious..... Larry NeGron Dallas, Texas...

Location, location, location! Beautiful setting, fabulous food in a historically elegant piazza! While wondering the streets of Roma -this is a must visit location - you will not be disappointed!

I ate there when I was only 11 about 20 years ago. My brother and I still talk about the Tartufo (Gelato that is scooped into a ball and covered in chocolate). What a nice view you get there of the Piazza. I can't believe I remembered the name.
