Roman trattoria with an informal atmosphere, simple, tasty, tried and tested cooking. On the menu, you'll find such timeless Roman dishes as L'abbacchio (shank of lamb), La Tagliata di Manzo Con Patate, and fish-based meals such as Spaghetti Al Cartoccio with seafood. All the desserts are home-made. Vino Sfuso from Velletri (wine ready for immediate consumption).
Amazing food, wine, ambiance and service. If you want to experience authentic Roman food at a locals favorite, this is the place to dine. The location is just off the Via Babuino in a beautiful small building. The chef visits the table and will make recommendations. Menu changes with the seasons. Their deserts are divine. I have been traveling to Rome for years and this restaurant is on the top of my list!
This restuarant was recommended by the clerk at our hotel on Via del Corso. We didn't call for reservations, but went to try to get in for a meal. We were greeted by a marvalous women, Bruna, and was told we could get in, but they were full for reservations coming up in 45 minutes. We stayed for 2 hours and had the best time of our lives and the food was wonderful. We went back the next night for the same wonderful, friendly atmosphere and, of course, the food and wine. Loved it, simply loved it.
Just got back from Rome and would like to recommend Edys restaurant for all lovers of Italian food. The menu is extensive and all food is well prepared - no menu turisticos there. We ate there twice and at both times the food was excellent. The salads were huge and made out of fresh ingredients, pasta was tasty and the same applies to meat dishes. Both red and white house wine is quality stuff at only 7 euros/half a liter.
The restaurant is perfectly located near the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo. I sincerely recommend you to try this restaurant rather than the touristy places nearer the Spanish Steps. You get great value for your money at Edys!
