Alfredo, Rome

We enjoyed a long and happy meal complete with wine, signing, and dessert! The food was great ... you have to try the original Alfredo. For anyone who thinks Olive Garden is good, try this place. You'll never touch OG again. The atmosphere is very nice and casual. Sit outside if you can and people watch as you enjoy the meal. Ive been here twice with my wife and each time it's been a memorable dinner !! Thanks Alfredo !!

I feel compelled to write a review of this place because it was so terrible! Our waiter was rude and wouldnt give us a wine list, being two females (in our 30's/40's) he insisted on chosing for us. How insulting! Our food was OK but very over priced (I know the euro is strong to £ but still) and we sent desert back it was so processed looking/tasting. We had fab meals and service EVERYWHERE else and I adore Rome but Alfredo is over rated and over priced.

The originale Alfredo's is a wonderful experience. Umberto has been a waiter here over the 20 years I have visited. He is 100% Italian, and the crew knows how to serve their fare. The only thing to order is the fettuccine. For best service you need to call and make reservations, trust me, it works. This is NOT a chain, and is not based in the US. They did try to open a second location in Palm Beach, but failed. They do like to make a big deal for groups, but with reservations couples, even singles are made to feel like the royalty whose pictures adorn their walls.

We were in Rome for one night as part of our honeymoon trip and was recommended Alfredos as a true fine Italian food, "wouldn't get better food any where else". This restaurant is a franchise chain main restuarants BASED in the US. It is a themed restaurant where the staff live in a time warp surrounded by the photos of famous filmstars. The food is actually really poor and tasteless and overpriced, the wine list doesn't have prices and more more importantly not one Italian person sat to dine in there. We were asked before we got the bill if we would like to sign their famous book to say we enjoyed the food, when we mentioned it wasn't up to standard they totally ignored us and didn't offer any regrets. The bottle of Gavi at 5o euros was the best part of the dinner, a real shame, this is a tourist restuarant not for passionate eaters who know their food! JULY 2008

althugh their are black and white pictures of celebrities they were taken many years ago the so called famous best alfredo is abolutely mediocre i have had better food in a u.s diner rhe satmosphere seems blnnk and cheep the prices much higher than the quality of the food the steak served with frech fies was unflavored rubber i advice you not to go if you're wise you'd take that advice

The food was so delicious. The atmosphere was very nice, the wait staff was okay, and did I mention that the food was so delicious??!! I can't wait to go back again.

I don't like Fettuccine Alfredo and I don't ever order it. Here, it was all I could do not to lick the plate. You will never eat it anywhere else.

We had been to Rome severaly years ago with a large family group (22) and had a wonderful experience at Alredo where our daughter celebrated a birthday and the staff made a big deal out of it - includig signing the same guest book as many celebrities and using the "gold fork". We were there again recently with a group of 7, including 4 teenagers, and this time, we were obviously not welcome. We were placed in a corner, the only talbe that the roaming musicians did not visit and the staff did not offer us the multiple course meal typical of Italian dinners. They suggested the signature fettucine Alfredo and that was it and we had to ask if they had a dessert menu. We had many wonderful meals while in Rome, most of which were 2 or 3 hour experiences of 4 and 5 courses, surrounded by Italians. We were in and out of Alfredo's in an hour. We will not go back, as we fell from celebrity status to unwelcome for some unknown reason. We were not dressed any differently, we were well behaved, we were willing to spend lots of money - it is a mystery.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and our hotel manager steered us here, and what a wonderful place! Our waiter was completely professional and awesome, and I can't be happier with the meal I ate here. I still think about that meal seven months later.

I loved the food ... fettucini alfredo is DELICIOUS !!!Loved Alfredo and the personel, always joking and attencious... You can sea hundreds of important personalities who went there over the years !!! it�s really a place to return !!
