This restaurant is situated under the arcade at the crossing of Via Pessina and Piazza Museo Nazionale and is just a short walk from the Museo Nationale. Decorated in an elegant yet rustic style, it is divided into several areas, one of which is an intimate attic with only a few tables. The cuisine is typically Neapolitan, with pizzas available for lunch and dinner, as well as delicious fresh desserts similar to traditional Sicilian sweets.
The restaurant has taken as a name the title of an old Italian Pop song from the 60s. I thought it was a touristy place and wanted to rush a quick meal to watch the valuable items from Pompei and Ercolano which were taken to the Archeological Museum (an old Spanish Palace and Spanish barracks). When I said "do it fast we're in a hurry" the owner looked at me cheek in tongue and answered back with that subdued Napolitan humour "Right on, Sir". Then I completely forgot about Roman antiques: We were out for the most unforgettable pizza experience anywhere!!! The 4 cheese pizza was not a plaster of Paris tasteless melange of cheeses. You could enjoy every single cheese, from creamy Gorgonzola to Brigante Picante. The national Napolitan creation, the Pizza Margheritta ("Viva il Plebiscito, Margheritta e il suo marito!") was another experience. Excellent service, directly supervised by the owner. Don't miss it.
Truely the pizza was delicious. Try the one with cream and shrimps! The service was very fast and friendly and I just loved the ambience and flair. And best of all it's just across the street from the National Museum. Try it, you won't regret it.
