This gallery, created at the request of Cardinal Federigo Borromeo in 1618, features many paintings by the Venetian, Lombardian, and Flemish schools, plus bronze and marble statues. Pinacoteca Ambrosiana houses great works by Renaissance masters like Botticelli, Titian, Bruegel and Raphael, and prominently displays Da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus, with many drawings and notes.
