Zen sushi, Milan

An elegant Japanese restaurant with decor and furniture in pale beechwood; very simple and clean and has a small private room that can be reserved. The main focus is the counter in the middle of the restaurant, on which Roberto the chef (a Japanese-Brazilian who was the chef at the Compagnia Generale dei Sognatori and Naviganti) places the sushi as soon as it is cut. The surface slides and everyone chooses what they want. The table service is superb; all the waiters speak more than one language and they are very kind. The clientele is varied with VIP's, models, advertising types, and young trendies with a large bank balance. The wines are top of the range and there are sakè, various types of tea and Japanese grappa.
