the Tyrol in Tuscany
I stumbled upon this small restaurant while looking for something else. It is an odd amalgam of Sudtirol , or South Tyrolian (Austrian part of Italy) food and ambience in the middle of Florence. the style of service is relaxed and welcoming, although the small bar is usually busy. If you can get a table toward the back it will be less noise from the bar. The food is a nice change of pace from southern Italian or even Tuscan food... but the owners and service are very Italian. I would say that it was quite a surprise to find this place in Florence and I would recommend it.
