best food in our florence trip
We were in Florence for 4 days and Ruth's was the best restaurant we went to. That's saying something, since we had already been to a great Italian on our first night.
I ordered a tuna croquette dish which was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Rich in flavour and mind blowingly delicious.
The falafel was very good too (but not as good as the tuna dish).
The bill was also pretty reasonable. Paid 55 wuro for two (included starter, desert and coffee, wine etc.)
We came across this restaurant in the Lonely Planet guide. They said to avoid the house wine. we didn't, and I'm glad we didn't. The house red was good. Not amazingly delicious, but good wine that was gone before you realised it.
I'm writing this review a week later so the restaurant certianly made an impact on me.
The only slightly negative thing about it is that the fornt door is left open which means that once the second door is opened by people entering and exiting, a cold draft goes through the place. The owner was quick to shut it though
Otherwise I loved the place.
Also, being a non-jew, I felt like I was in a Woody Allen movie. Quite an experience!
