Belle Donne, Florence

I would highly recommend that you avoid this eatery. The service was horrible at best. They acted like we were a burden during the entire meal. We had to specially request bread plates. And this was the only place that we had dinner that included the full 10% service charge (not an option). The meal was OK, but the service left a very sour taste in our mouth. There are many other very good places to get a good italian meal without dealing with the attitude that Belle Donne serves up.

This was an excellent experience. We had lunch and the food was incredible. Carre of Roast Beef, Mini Meatballs, Pasta, Coffee & Dessert were exceptional. I highly recommend Osteria and suggest lunch (take a break from all of the shopping & site seeing). I will definitely go there again.

this place stinks, th service was awful and there was hair in my food and my drink was watered down. This place was horrible! I would never go there again and I am giving you advice to not go there either. I f you do then don't get your hopes up for some delightfula nd satifying food

the food was great, the service attentive, a small place but beautifully decorated Although without english. still we were able to order what we wanted. the appetiser, special of the day, so you may never see it was an avacodo etc. concoction so good we ordered another. 10 days in italy, and this is the one we still talk about.

Osteria Belle Donne is my favourite eaterie in Florence . I have eaten there every time I have travelled to Florence , including two trips with my children . The service is always friendly , the food always good and the setting fabulous - this tiny osteria is decorated throughout , top to bottom , with garlands of flowers , vegetables and assorted household implements . You sit at shared tables , Tuscan style , and read the menu from the blackboard - though you can get a menu in English ! I would recommend you try a little Italian - it goes down well with the owner , Giacinto . I highly recommend this jewel of an osteria !

The worst pasta I've ever had in Italy, undercooked and sticky. Add to that the atrocious service by the one waiter trying to attend to all the tables, and a waiter with clearly a big attitude problem, and you have the recipe for a very bad dining experience. There's so much good food in Florence; why come here and be mistreated.
