This East Village staple is full of weird and wonderful decorations. Check out the Asian Buddha draped in yellow beads cradling a banana! While the indoor area is fairly ordinary by this neighborhood's standards, the garden seating in warm weather is a crowning achievement. The food is healthy, featuring many salads and dips. The place is open all night, and many people come here for very late night snacks.
We'd eaten dinner in their garden 12 1/2 years ago and finally made it back there 12 years later. We ate lunch in the garden this time. The interior of the restaurant is small, very funky and kind of a throwback to the hippie era. The garden is a real treasure. Our server was very pleasant, the food was very good (they serve mostly vegetarian) and the prices were very reasonable. They're open 24 hours/day, too.
I love this place. The food is reasonably priced and usually fresh, and it's open 24/7. Good ambiance. A fairly big and very nice patio out back. They don't rush you out. Food is OK to good. More of an atmosphere and service place.
Yaffa has great Mediterranean food at extremely fair prices. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is equally inviting and entertaining. It is open 24/7 and the service has never been anything but good. A great place to enjoy a late night in the city or anytime for that matter. My all time fave. is their Humus and Babaganoush.
