Ruen Thai Restaurant, Cork

I really rate the food here. I have lived and worked in SE Asia and am so into Thai food that I took cookery classes there. I would cook Thai at home up to 3 times a week. The Thai food here is as good as any youll get in Munster, probably all of Ireland. The restaurant is large and open planned; yet at the same time there is a relaxed subdued atmosphere. The staff are great, if a little shy. It is a little pricier than other Thai restaurants in Cork (15-20%), but then I dont eat out too often, so when I do I like to go where the food is great. They are very child friendly (like all Thais), so its a great place to go for lunch.

The food is so well made and tastes deliciously! The ambiance is just so calm and nice. Sometimes the food might get a little too spicy so I normally ask for no chilli.

Great Food, Great Ambiance...very traditional. From the items on the menu and the presentation, it's a definite must if you like Thai. Great for groups. Excellent Service

Absolutely GORGEOUS food, the staff are really helpful if a little shy at times, it's not the cheapest night out, but it's good enough value I think - not as great value as other thai restaurants, but I think that's more to do with their location and possibly high rent. Note also that there is a service charge included for larger groups (as far as I remember) If you're looking for a good night out, REALLY good food without having to wait for ages, and a nice relaxed chilled out atmosphere then you have to try the Ruen Thai - yuuuuuummy!!!!!
