After seeing the Royal Palace, take a stroll northwards. The medieval street network remains unaltered and although most of the buildings have been thoroughly restored (the war damage was severe) many retain their original features. Investigate the remains of the Dominican monastery; note the Plague monument outside Matyas Church; walk along the castle walls on the Buda side and see the Turkish tombstones at the north-western corner. There are many places to eat out here, but expect to pay tourist prices.
I liked the castle grounds because it presents a great view of Budapest and its sorroundings once up there. Good for nice photos! Also tell a lot of the towns historical heritage. To me it was definitly a main attraction to see.
The architecture is amazing in Hungary and Castle District was no different. The buildings reminded me of the ancient times. The roads were brick. Castle District was pricey but any place that is worthwhile to visit usually is.
Europe has a lot of old towns and castles. Budapest's is quite lovely, and offers some great views and access to musuems. It is a must-see, but be warned, it is probably the most touristy part of town. So you will be accosted by street pedlers selling their junk and subjected to restuarants that cost twice as much as they do anywhere else in town.
great place, a real must!!!! the atmosphere there is just simply fantastic, and if you can, stay there until the sun goes down, there's a beautiful sight from there to all the city... the only problem is it's much more expensive than anything else in the city, and there are mostly just tourists.
This is a great place to visit for many reasons, not least for its cool, shaded interior and interesting layout.
Kids with big imaginations will love the seemingly never ending maze like corridors. The network of tunnels can only ...
This is a fascinating little museum that is well worth a look. It shows how the modern pharmacy developed from
the study of alchemy, as well as actual counter layouts and shelf displays from around a century ago. If ...
This is a well established Greek restaurant, situated on the Buda bank of the Danube in the Watertown district that
lies beneath the Castle Hill. There is a friendly atmosphere, with tables nestling close together and many tables for ...
